We turn weddings, portraits, businesses, events and properties into clear visual stories. Each project starts with a proper plan, gets shot as photo and film, and is edited for the place where it will actually be seen.
I’m Mehrdad Samavati, the photographer and filmmaker behind Tiasam Studio. My hands-on journey began in 2010 and grew through traditional photography, visual arts education, lighting, composition and years of real production work. Photography has never felt like only a profession to me—it is how I notice people and hold onto moments that pass too quickly.
Tiasam has creative roots in Iran and a growing practice in Canada, shaped by working with people from different cultures. Toronto is our home base today. That wider perspective helps us listen carefully and create photographs and films that feel personal rather than generic.
Every story needs a different balance. Sometimes that means careful direction; sometimes it means stepping back and letting a real moment happen. We prepare the details, make the set comfortable and use cinematic light without losing what was honest in front of the camera.
We begin by understanding why the images are being made and where they need to live. Then we plan timing, location, light and production. Direction stays clear and respectful, and the final edit is treated as one complete story with consistent colour and rhythm.

We use current professional cameras, cinema lenses, controlled lighting, sound, stabilizers and drones, the same tools modern photo and film crews rely on. We pick them one project at a time, but the real heart of every result is still planning, light and how we work with people.
